Mother of two, Alison Bayne, once had blue hair and no longer has a gall-bladder. Her family is the most important thing in her life and motherhood is the only job she's ever been any good it.

She is rubbish at cooking, although is (reluctantly) improving and her favourite place is her bed. She drinks seven cups of coffee a day but gave up smoking nearly ten years ago. She keeps falling off the Fly Lady bandwagon.

An advocate of green living, she has encountered depression since the age of 15,and no longer watches or listens to news broadcasts. She keeps meaning to meditate but finds that very hard to fit in.

Alison grows her own veg, looks after her two children and writes when they are asleep. Her work has been featured in a number of magazines, including The Green Parent, Ethical Living, Juno and Natural Life. She would love to live according to the Buy Nothing ethic but hasn't got there yet.
